As part of the IEEE Women in Engineering Day celebrations 2026, the NIE IEEE Student Branch – Women in Engineering is organizing Vigyaan ’26, a two-day rural outreach initiative scheduled for June 29th and June 30th, 2026. The program is designed to introduce school students from rural communities to the world of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) through interactive, engaging, and creative learning experiences. Approximately 70 students are expected to participate in the initiative.
Building upon the success of the previous edition conducted in 2025, Vigyaan ’26 aims to further expand scientific awareness and curiosity among young learners through experiential activities and technology-driven sessions. The outreach initiative focuses on making STEM education accessible, enjoyable, and inspiring for students with limited exposure to emerging technologies and innovation-oriented learning environments.
The event will feature hands-on STEM activities, creativity-based learning modules, interactive science demonstrations, and introductory sessions on emerging technologies and current technological trends. Students will participate in engaging activities that encourage innovation, imagination, problem-solving, and creative thinking while exploring how technology can be used in meaningful and impactful ways.
In addition to technical exposure, the sessions will provide insights into scholarships, higher education opportunities, career pathways in STEM domains, and the wide range of opportunities available in rapidly evolving technological fields. The initiative aims to motivate students to explore future possibilities in science and technology while building confidence, curiosity, and aspiration.
Through Vigyaan ’26, the NIE IEEE Student Branch – Women in Engineering continues its commitment toward community engagement, educational outreach, and empowering the next generation through inclusive and meaningful learning experiences.
