Summer Camp for Female Middle School and High School Students: SHE in ECE 150 150 ieeeeduweek

IEEE EDS/CASS sponsored  “One-Day Summer Camp for Female High School Students” to join engineering especially in electrical engineering and computer engineering. SHE@IEEE is Soaring High-powered Excellence in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE): SHE in ECE. The participants will be middle school and high school students entering 7th to 12th grades in the IEEE North Jersey Section and the surrounding community.

Participants Did:

  • Learn about various IEEE activities.
  • Students will meet current and present female undergraduate and graduate students in ECE program.
  • The student will visit the ECE Research laboratories related to robotics, electronics, and communication/network research.
  • Female faculty members will address the students describing their career growth.
  • Students will be addressed by female industry leaders in ECE disciplines with ECE degrees.
  • Former female ECE students who are working in Industry will address
  • Students will discover the current trends and the future Electron Device technology by interacting with the female guest speakers.
  • ECE Program advisors will also present the academic activities and requirements.
  • Students will carry out a few hands-on activities that will include circuits boards and

IEEE Joint Chapter IE13/PE31/CAS04/PEL35, in collaboration with IEEE Lebanon SIGHT and LIU student Branch is undertaking an exciting initiative aimed at introducing high school students to discover University and engineering life. The collaboration aims to inspire young minds and ignite their passion for science and technology by providing them with hands-on experience in conducting experiments and applying theoretical concepts in practical settings. The program is expected to help students develop critical thinking skills and encourage them to pursue careers in engineering fields.

El pasado 26 de Julio del 2024, un grupo de estudiantes de la universidad participó como jueces en la Feria de Ciencias organizada por el Colegio La Estancia. La actividad dio inicio a las 11:00 a.m., cuando los estudiantes partieron desde la universidad hacia el lugar del evento. Durante la jornada, se evaluaron diversos proyectos científicos presentados por alumnos de diferentes grados, aplicando criterios previamente establecidos para valorar la creatividad, el rigor científico, la innovación y la presentación de cada propuesta. La experiencia permitió un enriquecedor intercambio de ideas entre los estudiantes del colegio y los jueces invitados, quienes ofrecieron retroalimentación constructiva. El evento concluyó a las 3:00 p.m., dejando un impacto positivo en todos los participantes.

The session, conducted by EBSCO training manager Mr. Raj Mahapatra, aimed to familiarize participants with the functionalities and benefits of the IEEE Xplore platform.
