“𝐇𝐨𝐩𝐞 & 𝐇𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐨𝐧𝐬: 𝐀 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐈𝐄𝐄𝐄 𝐑𝐔𝐄𝐓 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐡” with the theme “𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗠 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘀” was organized by 𝐈𝐄𝐄𝐄 𝐂𝐒 𝐑𝐔𝐄𝐓 𝐒𝐁𝐂, in association with 𝐈𝐄𝐄𝐄 𝐑𝐔𝐄𝐓 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐡 and technically supported by 𝐈𝐄𝐄𝐄 𝐂𝐒 𝐁𝐃𝐂 at the 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐢 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 on 𝟏𝟏 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑 and 𝐑𝐚𝐣𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐡𝐢 𝐁𝐨𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐮𝐤𝐡𝐢 𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐬’ 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 on 𝟏𝟐 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑.
The aim of the event was to inspire and encourage students in the areas of 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲, 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠, and 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐡 that foster future talent, and as such feel passionate about community-based initiatives. Our event focused on students in classes 𝟖 to 𝟗 to pursue the main objective is to reinforce experiential and contextual learning. The event was divided into two phases. The first phase included the 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭 and the second phase was the 𝐑𝐔𝐄𝐓 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭.
Through experiments and hands-on experiences, school visit days organized by the IEEE RUET Student Branch encouraged students to explore their interests. They were shown experiments based on 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐛𝐮𝐥𝐛 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬-𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐋𝐅𝐑 and various electrical themes enhancing their understanding of electrical engineering. Students participated in Q&A sessions, which offered them further insights. We designed quiz questions based on the training subjects, covering key ideas and accommodating varying comprehension levels. Then through the Quiz competition, students were shortlisted to 25 students. They were brought to RUET for lab visits as the second phase of the event. The top 3 students were further awarded based on a quiz competition regarding the lab visits and 𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐌 questions.
𝐑𝐔𝐄𝐓 Lab Visit Day:
Those students were brought to 𝐑𝐔𝐄𝐓 for lab visits on 𝟏𝟒 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑, it was led by the dedicated volunteers of the 𝐈𝐄𝐄𝐄 𝐑𝐔𝐄𝐓 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐡 to show the 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐛 and 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐥𝐚𝐛. Especially, in the 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐥𝐚𝐛 visit, students were able to learn about various 𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬, 𝐜𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐬, and 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬. They got a chance to see and work with different types of electronic equipment such as 𝐨𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐬, 𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬, and 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬. They observed 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐟-𝐰𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐅𝐮𝐥𝐥-𝐰𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐬, and 𝐀𝐂-𝐃𝐂 experiments. Also, in the 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐛.
Both lab visits provided valuable hands-on learning experiences and gave students a glimpse into the fields of electronics and machine technology. And the event concluded with gifts, certificates, and snacks, leaving a lasting impact on students, inspiring them to excel as lifelong learners. Those two days were remarkable for students empowering and inspiring all students to excel as lifelong learners.
