Workshop for Highschool Students (Mentored by University Students)
Location: FEIT FabLab

A hands‑on workshop introducing highschool students to renewable energy concepts and their real‑world applications. Under the guidance of university mentors, participants will explore sustainable power systems and get practical experience constructing a miniature solar‑powered house.

Agenda

  • 10:00 Welcome and Introduction
Brief orientation and overview of the day’s activities.

  • 10:05 “Switch ON: Renewables and a Sustainable Future”
Interactive presentation on the importance of renewable energy, current technologies, and the vision for a low‑carbon society.

  • 10:30 “Self‑Consumption vs. RES Integration in Power Systems”
Discussion on balancing on‑site energy use with grid integration, exploring challenges and solutions for effective renewable deployment.

  • 11:00 Workshop: Build a Mini Solar‑Powered House
Guided, hands‑on session where teams assemble and test small-scale solar‑powered models, applying concepts of photovoltaic energy, storage, and load management.

Participants leave with foundational knowledge of renewables, insights into power‑system integration, and a tangible prototype showcasing solar technology in action.
