Discussion on Sediment Deposition Simulation and Wind Power Issues

Discussion on Sediment Deposition Simulation and Wind Power Issues 150 150 ieeeeduweek

On November 16th 2024, IEEE Photonics Society Student Chapter of Zhejiang Ocean University hosted a hybrid online and offline meeting was held to discuss sediment deposition simulation and wind power-related issues. The session included detailed presentations on advancements in sediment modeling, challenges in predicting deposition patterns, and integrating wind power systems in sediment-heavy regions. Participants exchanged insights on addressing these interdisciplinary challenges and proposed collaborative efforts with external research institutions. The meeting concluded with a lunch gathering, where attendees networked informally and discussed practical applications and research opportunities, fostering stronger connections and potential partnerships.

“Photonics Christmas Tales” – UK&Ireland IEEE Photonics Chapter Student talks competition

“Photonics Christmas Tales” – UK&Ireland IEEE Photonics Chapter Student talks competition 485 254 ieeeeduweek

“Photonics Christmas Tales” is a competition for optics and photonics students around the UK and Ireland. Students will present their recent findings within a talks contest. This format will provide a more engaging experience and let participants communicate with each other. With this event, students will have an excellent opportunity to demonstrate the highlights of their research, boost their professional visibility and network with other local researchers.
