The Electrical Power System Simulation Competition 2024 (EPSSCOM2024) was held on 7 December 2024 at Universiti Putra Malaysia, providing an engaging platform for undergraduate electrical engineering students to showcase their simulation projects. With the theme “Sustainable Microgrid with Smart Energy Management System,” the competition fostered innovation and collaboration in the field of power and energy engineering. Open to students across Asia, the event attracted eight teams from various universities, who presented their works to a panel of industry experts and academic scholars. EPSSCOM2024 facilitated knowledge sharing, networking, and discussions on sustainable energy solutions, further enriching participants’ academic and professional experiences.

Final Year Project competition at MSU, Shah Alam.
IEEE PES Malaysia was invited to judge and sponsor an award for the Research and Innovation Engineering Day’ (RADIATE 2024) organized by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Technology of Unviersiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTEM). IEEE PES Malaysia was represented by Prof. Gan Chin Kim. The event was attended by 80 participants consisting of students and about 20 lecturers (all are IEEE members). The IEEE PES judges projects related to the track of Power and Energy.

Engenius Week 2024 was successfully organized by Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Malaya and supported by IEEE PES Malaysia Chapter from 11 to 14 June 2024. This event showcased the innovative research and design capabilities of final-year students through their Final Year Projects (FYP) and Integrated Design Projects (IDP) from various Bachelor of Engineering programs. The IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES) Malaysia Chapter generously contributed to the event by providing plaques and certificates on 14 June 2024. These awards were specifically aimed at recognizing exceptional FYP projects in the field of power and energy, further emphasizing the importance of this area in engineering. The event was graced by faculty members, industry representatives, and IEEE PES Malaysia Chapter officials, making it a memorable occasion for the participants. |
IEEE PES Malaysia was invited to judge the Final Year Project (FYP) Seminar organized by the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, Kulliyyah Of Engineering (KOE), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). IEEE PES Malaysia was represented by Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr Miszaina Osman. The event was attended by 95 participants consisting of students and about 33 lecturers (all are IEEE members). The seminar was conducted in parallel session with 11 tracks. Nine (9) IEEE Societies have agreed to sponsor the winner for the respective track. One of the tracks was on Power and Energy (Track 4). The event showcased undergraduate engineering students’ research output in the field of power and energy. The event enabled undergraduate students to present their research findings to the audience and provide justifications for their design/methodology adopted and analysis of results obtained from the research
