IEEE Student Branch Mody University of Science and Technology Orientation 150 150 ieeeeduweek

On 23rd September 2024, IEEE SB MUST held its annual orientation in Room ABB 01, starting at 4:30 PM. The orientation aimed to introduce students to the objectives, opportunities, and initiatives of the IEEE Student Branch at Mody University of Science and Technology (MUST). The session kicked off with a warm welcome from the core team, providing an insightful overview of IEEE’s mission and the significance of being part of such a globally recognized organisation. The team highlighted the diverse opportunities available through IEEE, including technical, leadership, and networking prospects, which can greatly benefit students in their academic and professional journeys.

The session then delved into the structure of IEEE SB MUST, featuring its key chapters like Women in Engineering (WIE), Communications Society (ComSoc), and Computer Society (CS). Chapter leads shared their experiences, recent projects, and future plans, encouraging students to actively engage in upcoming activities. A presentation showcasing the achievements of the student branch over the past year followed, highlighting successful workshops, hackathons, and collaborations, including partnerships with institutions like BITS Pilani. This set the stage for an exciting discussion on the upcoming events and initiatives planned for the academic year.

Interactive segments were included to engage the new members, allowing them to ask questions and express their expectations from IEEE SB MUST. This created an energetic and inclusive environment, ensuring that students felt welcomed and informed about how they can contribute to the branch’s initiatives. The session ended with an invitation for students to join various committees aligned with their interests, whether technical, organisational, or creative.

Overall, the IEEE SB MUST Orientation 2024 was an informative and engaging event, leaving students excited to participate in the diverse activities and opportunities offered by the student branch. It successfully set the tone for a collaborative and productive year ahead, fostering a sense of community among both new and returning members.
