IEEE Educational Events

This event, organized by the IEEE WIE Student Branch Affinity Group in collaboration with Aurora STEAM, is a full-day career development initiative designed to equip engineering students and young professionals with the practical tools needed to stand out in today’s competitive job market. Held at Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala (USAC), the program combines hands-on workshops, expert-led dialogue, and personalized coaching to help participants build a coherent and compelling professional identity.
Attendees will take part in a high-impact CV workshop grounded in the STAR method, receive a professional headshot from an on-site photography station, and get real-time LinkedIn profile reviews from trained volunteers. A panel discussion on workplace branding will bring in industry leaders — including speakers from Aurora STEAM — to share insights on reputation-building and networking in STEM fields. The day concludes with mock job interviews to strengthen soft skills, followed by a networking session where participants can connect directly with recruiters and speakers.
By addressing career readiness holistically — from documentation and digital presence to interview performance and professional networking — this event directly supports IEEE WIE’s mission of empowering women and underrepresented groups in engineering to advance confidently in their careers.
