IEEE student branch GWECA organized an offline quiz competition for enhancing knowledge of students and to celebrate the spirit of science and technology. The event was open to all the departments of the college and a total of 40 students (13 teams) participated in the quiz. Content was shared among the students to have a reference for the questions that were asked to all the students. The information about the quiz was sent to the students via emails and on the WhatsApp groups.
The quiz took place in 3 rounds: –
Elimination round – All teams were asked to sit with their respective team members. An AI based quiz was made with a time limit, to avoid biasness, and sent to the leaders of the teams. The team answered the quiz, and the results were declared on the spot. Top 6 teams were qualified for the next round and the rest were eliminated.
Winning round – Top 6 teams were seated together and were asked 5 questions having multiple choices. The questions were presented on the screen giving all the teams 45 seconds for each question and the team was given a sheet of paper to note down their answers. The answers given by the teams were checked without any favouritism and Top 3 teams were supposed to be the winners holding the positions with their respective scores but due to tie between 2 teams a new round was introduced to decide the position among the 2 teams.
Tie Breaker round – This round was like a rapid-fire round. The teams were asked 3 questions. One which answered correct won the tie breaker round and got the second place.
After all the rounds the winners were declared. Prizes were given to the winners with a certificate of appreciation with their earned positions. Digital certificate of participation was given to the other teams. The certificate template is attached to this report. Overall, the event was fun and involving, seeing a spirit of competence among students made it a success.
