Performance of Silicone Rubber Composites in Oil-Exposed Environments

Silicone rubber composites are widely used in transformer bushing insulation due to their excellent electrical and thermal properties. However, prolonged exposure to mineral oil can degrade their performance, impacting reliability in high-voltage environments. This webinar, led by Dr. Palash Mishra, will explore the effects of oil exposure on RTV silicone rubber and its composites, focusing on changes in mechanical, electrical, and thermal properties.

The session will cover advanced material characterization techniques, including SEM, 3D microscopy, shore hardness testing, BDV, PTI, TGA, DTA, IR thermography, IPT-E (IEC 60587), FTIR, and EDAX, to assess and enhance the durability of silicone rubber composites in oil-exposed environments.

Join us for an insightful discussion on improving the long-term performance of silicone rubber composites for transformer applications.
