The IEEE Student Branch at Baze University is hosting an exclusive STEM outreach program for young women in secondary schools. This event aims to encourage and inspire the next generation of female leaders in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
Through hands-on workshops, inspiring talks from successful women in STEM, and engaging activities, this event will empower young girls to pursue careers in technology and engineering, breaking barriers and closing the gender gap in STEM fields.
Objectives:
✔ Encourage young women to explore STEM fields with confidence.
✔ Highlight successful women role models in STEM careers.
✔ Provide hands-on experience in STEM activities.
✔ Foster mentorship and networking opportunities.
Target Audience:
Female secondary school students (SS1 – SS3)
Female STEM teachers and school representatives
IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) members & university volunteers
Logistics & Requirements:
✅ Invitations to Schools: Send formal invitations to girls’ secondary schools in Abuja.
✅ IEEE Women Volunteers: Assign female university students as mentors and facilitators.
✅ STEM Kits & Materials: Provide resources for hands-on activities.
✅ Venue & Equipment: Secure classrooms, projectors, and lab spaces at Baze University.
✅ Refreshments: Light snacks and drinks for attendees.
