Workshop Description – “First Step into IoT”

The Department of Electrical Engineering, SISTec Ratibad, in collaboration with IEEE MP Section and IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES) MP Chapter, is organizing a two-day workshop on “First Step into IoT” to introduce participants to the exciting world of the Internet of Things (IoT).

This workshop is specially designed for students who want to understand the fundamentals of IoT, embedded systems, sensors, communication technologies, and real-time data monitoring. Participants will gain both theoretical knowledge and practical exposure through interactive sessions and hands-on activities using IoT hardware platforms.

The workshop will cover:

• Introduction to IoT and its real-world applications
• IoT architecture and communication protocols
• Basics of sensors, actuators, and microcontrollers
• Arduino/ESP-based programming and interfacing
• Cloud connectivity and real-time monitoring
• Mini IoT project demonstrations

The sessions will be conducted by Prof. Namrata Talegaonkar, Assistant Professor, EE, SISTec-E Ratibad Bhopal, who will guide participants through practical implementation and emerging trends in IoT technologies.

This workshop aims to enhance technical skills, innovation, and industry-oriented learning among students while motivating them to explore future opportunities in smart technologies and automation.
