Spooky Circuitry Lab: A Hands-On Electronics Workshop For Middle and High School Students
Build. Test. Troubleshoot. Create.
Join Metrobots, the PAST Foundation, SenseICs Corporation, and the IEEE Columbus SSCS & CASS Joint Chapter for a hands-on workshop where students explore electronics by building, testing, and troubleshooting circuits on solder-less breadboards!
Full Event Description:
Ready to make the spooky season electric? Spooky Circuitry Lab is a hands-on workshop designed for middle and high school students to dive into practical electronics. Participants will learn how components like LEDs, resistors, photoresistors, and 555 timers work together to solve Halloween-themed circuit design challenges—from glowing pumpkin eyes to screaming sound circuits!
🚀 Part of a Multi-Part Microelectronics Engineering Series:
This workshop marks Step 1 in an exciting multi-event educational series designed to take students through the entire hardware design lifecycle:
- Breadboard Fundamentals (This Workshop): Build, test, and troubleshoot physical circuits with discrete components on breadboards.
- PCB Design: Learn CAD tools (like KiCad) to translate physical breadboards into functional schematic representations and custom Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs).
- Integrated Circuit (Chip) Design: Discover how large circuit boards can be scaled down and miniaturized onto tiny silicon microchips!
Who Should Join:
Middle and high school students (ages 12–18) interested in STEM, robotics, and engineering. No prior electronics experience is required!
