Peterborough Regional Science Fair

The IEEE Peterborough section is a silver-level sponsor of the annual Peterborough Regional Science Fair and has maintained a constant presence at the event through not just sponsorship but also by participating as judges. Through this, the section has increased the IEEE brand recognition among school students and also among event attendees including members of local industry and educational institutions.
For 56 years the Peterborough Regional Science Fair has encouraged students to embrace and explore scientific thought and have fun doing it! Projects require all aspects of learning: inquiry, experimental design and execution, literacy, math and art to create the dynamic poster boards. Students take part in a friendly science competition, showing off their investigations.
Held annually at Trent University, our Fair brings together hundreds of students who showcase their experiments and compete for awards totalling $15 000, including the opportunity to compete at the Canada-Wide Science Fair and beyond.
