The Online Faculty Development Program on “Demystifying Outcome-Based Education” was conducted on November 5 to 9, 2024. The program was organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Srinivas University Institute of Engineering and Technology, Mukka, Mangaluru, in association with the IEEE Srinivas University Student Branch. This report provides a detailed overview of the program, including the resource person, topics covered, and outcomes.

The sessions were delivered by Dr. Mendus Jacob, Director of the MCA Department at Marian College, Kuttikkanam (Autonomous), Kerala, 685531. Dr. Jacob brought significant expertise in the domain of Outcome-Based Education, enriching the sessions with practical insights and actionable strategies.

The FDP was conducted over three days, with sessions held from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM via the Zoom platform. The program facilitated interaction and learning among participants, leveraging virtual tools for a seamless experience.

The program covered the following key topics:

• Learning Domain’s-Bloom’s Taxonomy: Introduced participants to the fundamentals of Bloom’s Taxonomy and its relevance in Outcome-Based Education.

• Architecture of OBE, Design, and Mapping of Outcomes: Detailed discussion on the structure and framework of OBE, including effective strategies for designing and mapping outcomes.

• Attainment Calculation and Useful Analytics for Accreditation: Provided insights into methodologies for calculating attainment and utilizing analytics for accreditation processes.

• Best Practices and Innovative ICT Tools and AI Platforms for OBE Implementation: Highlighted cutting-edge practices and tools to enhance the implementation of OBE, ensuring alignment with current technological advancements.

Participants expressed their appreciation for the comprehensive content and the practical applicability of the sessions. The program enhanced understanding of OBE principles, equipping faculty members with the knowledge and tools necessary for effective implementation. The feedback highlighted the clarity and expertise of the resource person, Dr. Mendus Jacob.

The FDP on “Demystifying Outcome-Based Education” successfully achieved its objectives of fostering a deeper understanding of OBE and equipping participants with practical tools for its implementation. The collaboration between Srinivas University IQAC and IEEE Student Branch significantly contributed to the program’s success.
