Overview

On September 4, 2024, the IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society (AESS) Student Branch Chapter at ENSIT hosted an information booth on campus. This booth was organized to introduce students to IEEE AESS, share insights into our chapter’s objectives, and showcase our activities. The booth provided an interactive space for students to learn more about aerospace and electronic systems, connect with our team, and explore membership opportunities.

Key Highlights

1. Introduction to IEEE AESS

   • Our team provided an overview of the IEEE AESS mission, focusing on how it supports students in developing expertise in aerospace and electronic systems.
   • We highlighted the benefits of joining IEEE, including access to a global network of professionals, technical resources, and career development opportunities.

2. Showcasing Chapter Activities

   • We shared information about our past and upcoming events, including DRONATHON, our flagship event that showcases drone technology, and the Junior Astronauts program, which introduces young students to astronomy.
   • The booth also featured a display of our focus areas—Aeronautics, Astronomy, and Embedded Systems—along with hands-on demos and project showcases to engage visitors and provide a preview of our planned activities.

3. Engaging Student Interest

   • Through interactive discussions, we encouraged students to ask questions about our projects and the skills they could develop by participating in IEEE AESS.
   • Our team shared stories from past members’ experiences, inspiring new students to consider active involvement in the chapter and pursue leadership or technical roles.

4. Membership and Upcoming Events

   • Students interested in joining were given details on membership registration, benefits, and a schedule of upcoming events where they could start getting involved.
   • We encouraged attendees to join our upcoming info sessions and General Assembly to learn more about how they could contribute to and benefit from IEEE AESS activities.

Conclusion

The IEEE AESS ENSIT booth was a successful outreach event, sparking interest among students and effectively communicating the value of joining our chapter. With enthusiastic responses from students and increased interest in our core areas of work, the booth helped lay a solid foundation for a dynamic and impactful year.
