IEEE Student Branch Unibas at Lucania Is Comics: Tech, Gaming & STEM Outreach
October 10 @ 4:00 pm – October 11 @ 1:00 pm
The IEEE Student Branch of Unibas participates in the “Lucania Is Comics” (upon the invitation of the organizers) convention with an interactive exhibition booth dedicated to scientific and technological outreach. For this event, Branch members designed and set up a custom arcade station, featuring various original punk/cyberpunk-themed video game developed entirely in Python (Pygame) and paired with a physical controller. The initiative aims to engage visitors of all ages – especially youth and high school students – in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) through retrogaming and software development, while actively promoting the activities, values, and opportunities of the IEEE community locally. Curious visitors have the chance to peek behind the code and get a closer look at the world of engineering.
It’s also available a 3D Printer and everyone has the opportunity to print a 3D work and gain access to lots of printed gadgets, while the basics of 3D modelling are being illustrated by a certifited instructor.
