IEEE Day PES Quiz finals was conducted on 4th November 2023 at Cochin University of Science and Technology ,Ernakulam.The participants for the second round was selected based on the preliminary round conducted on October 3rd at various Engineering Colleges all over Kerala.The first ,second and third runnerups from around thirty colleges was selected for the second round.Around 43 students attended the second round at CUSAT.After the second round at 10.30 am the inauguration was conducted.

The IEEE day PES quiz was inaugurated by Prof Mohammed Kasim Chair IEEE Kerala section.In his address Prof Kasim gave a detailed picture of IEEE one of the largest Professional and Technical organisation in the world.He also told about IEEE day PES quiz conducted by PES Kerala Chapter its origin etc.Presidential address was given by Dr Ajith Gopi Chair ,IEEE PES Kerala Chapter.The gathering was welcomed by Er Hari Kumar K P Secretary PES Kerala Chapter. Felicitations was given Dr Deepthi Das IEEE SB councillor,CUSAT .Vote of thanks was given by Sri HariMurali and IreneBennet .

After lunch session there was a IEEE Awareness/Membership Development session was taken by Prof Mohammed Kasim .Smt Mini Ulanat immediate past chair IEEE Kerala section addressed the students.Prof Mohammed kasim talked about origin of IEEE , benefits of IEEE membership to students in detail and asked them to be part of IEEE.

After the second round and detailed scrutiny of answer papers  four  teams was selected based on the marks recieved.Dr Ajith Gopi Chair IEEE PES Kerala chapter was the quiz master for the final round.The final round consisted of  questions related to Power and energy ,Renewables,General knowledge etc was asked by the quiz master.Three teams was selected as the winners based on thier performance.Certificates of participation was issued to the all participants .A Cash prize of Rs5000 was given to first prize winner,3000 to 2nd prize winner and 2000 to third prize winner by Professor Mohammed Kasim.The event was conducted with the help of IEEE student volunteers under the leadership of HariMurali Student branch Vice chair and PES SLT team under the leadership of Irene Bennet ,Joyal.The event came to a close aound 4.00pm.
