IEEE BAU ComSoc ( IEEE Makers competition (CubeSat))
March 5 @ 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm
A CubeSat is a type of small, modular satellite that follows a specific design standard. Typically, CubeSat’s are made up of units, where one unit (1U) is a cube with dimensions of 10 cm x 10 cm x 10 cm, and they can be combined to form larger satellites (e.g., 2U, 3U, 6U, etc.). CubeSat’s are lightweight, cost-effective, and are often used for scientific research, Earth observation, technology testing, and educational purposes.
These small satellites are launched into space aboard larger rockets and can carry various payloads such as cameras, sensors, and communication systems. CubeSat’s offer a unique opportunity for universities, research institutions, and small companies to engage in space missions that were previously out of reach due to the high costs of traditional satellite launches. Their compact size and lower cost make them a popular choice for space exploration and experimentation, contributing to advancements in space technology and research. We will also be working on a CubeSat project with the members*, allowing them to learn more about satellite technology and contribute to this exciting field.
And our cubesat project has been officially selected as a part of IEEE Makers competition!!
