Overview

The IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society (AESS) Student Branch Chapter at ENSIT held a General Assembly on September 18, 2024, bringing together members to discuss our chapter’s vision and future plans for the academic year. The session focused on setting clear objectives, sharing upcoming projects, and encouraging member participation in IEEE initiatives and activities.

1. Future Plans and Objectives

   • We outlined our primary goals, including expanding our chapter’s impact on campus, increasing member engagement in technical activities, and positioning our SBC as a leader in aerospace and electronic systems education.
   • Plans were made to host specialized workshops, technical challenges, and guest speaker events aimed at deepening our members’ expertise and practical skills in aerospace technology.

2. Project Roadmap

   • The leadership team presented a roadmap for key projects, including hands-on labs, collaborative research opportunities, and our flagship event ‘DRONATHON,’ which will continue to be a cornerstone of our chapter’s activities.
   • Ideas were also exchanged for new projects, with members contributing valuable suggestions to make events more interactive and accessible.

3. Member Involvement and Growth

   • Emphasis was placed on the importance of active member participation and personal development through IEEE. Members were encouraged to take on leadership roles in organizing events and to explore cross-disciplinary opportunities.
   • We also discussed mentorship opportunities, connecting newer members with experienced IEEE peers to foster skill-building and professional growth.

Outcomes and Next Steps

The General Assembly was a successful start to the year, setting a collaborative tone and aligning our team with a shared vision.
