Engineering Success: Pathways to Inovation and Achievement 2024

Introduction:
On September 22nd, 2024, we celebrated National Engineers’ Day with an impactful online webinar titled “Engineering Success: Pathways to Innovation and Achievement.” The event was organized by Dr. SafiaAkhterKazmi (Faculty Advisor) and Mr. Mohammad Zaid (Branch Counselor), alongside the founding members and students of Aligarh Muslim University in presence.
Event Start: Opening Address:
The webinar began with an engaging introduction by Syeda Fatima Jafri, who provided an overview of the speakers: Asmer Hamid Ali, a Ph.D. student, and MS students MahenaMahmood and Abbas Syed Nooruddin. She also highlighted the significance of National Engineers’ Day. Abbas discussed the “Roadmap to Grad School,” covering application processes and funding, while Asmer offered guidance on initiating research papers. Mahena emphasized the importance of mental health and provided advice on choosing fields within Electrical Engineering, ensuring a well-rounded approach to graduate school success.
Keynote Address Begins
The webinar showcased three distinguished speakers, each offering valuable insights. Abbas SyedNooruddin opened with a comprehensive presentation titled “Roadmap to Grad School: A Guide to U.S. Graduate School Applications.” He expertly navigated the complexities of the application process, discussing funding opportunities and strategic decision-making while dispelling prevalent myths surrounding graduate admissions.
Asmer Hamid Ali followed, sharing his expertise on Ph.D. research. He provided actionable guidance on effectively initiating research projects and crafting impactful research papers, emphasizing the importance of a robust academic foundation.
Concluding the session, MahenaMahmood focused on practical strategies within the electrical engineering domain. She addressed key aspects of innovation and design, offering insights on how to approach projects and research with a creative mindset. Together, these presentations aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and tools necessary for success in their academic pursuits.
The webinar concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session, allowing participants to interact with the speakers and explore pathways and guidance for U.S. graduate school applications. This discussion fostered a dynamic exchange of ideas, enhancing the learning experience for all attendees. Fatima Wajih wrapped up the event with a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all speakers, organizers, and participants for their valuable contributions and active involvement in the session.
