DevNexa’23 was a collaborative project between Uva Wellassa University, SLTC Research University, and the Open University of Sri Lanka, aiming to advance web development. It included a technical webinar series, career guidance workshops, and a teamwork culture. The project aimed to drive innovation, improve skills, and foster meaningful connections in web development.

There were three phases in the DevNexa’23 project.

Phase 01 – The first round was a technical webinar series

DevNexa’23 aimed to launch the event with a dynamic technical webinar series, providing participants with insights into technology, programming languages, and industry trends. The series fostered a collaborative learning environment, encouraging the exchange of ideas and knowledge within the developer community. Participants gained practical skills, stayed updated on emerging technologies, and found inspiration for their projects.

Phase 02 – The second round introduced a competitive element.

The 02nd phase of DevNexa’23 introduced a competitive element to enhance the participant experience. It aimed to showcase developers’ skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities through engaging competitions. This competition fostered innovation, encouraged teamwork, and recognized outstanding achievements within the developer community. Participants could challenge themselves, learn from each other, and contribute to the vibrant spirit of collaboration.

Phase 03 – The third round offered exciting entertainment opportunities.

Phase 03 of DevNexa’23 aimed to infuse the event with an element of entertainment, providing participants with a well-deserved break from intense coding sessions. The objective was to create a lively and enjoyable atmosphere, fostering connections among participants while celebrating the diverse talents within the tech community. Through engaging and entertaining activities, this round aimed to rejuvenate attendees, promote a sense of camaraderie, and contribute to the overall positive and memorable experience of DevNexa’23.

In essence, the DevNexa’23 project was a multifaceted endeavour that went beyond numerical membership metrics. It was about building a vibrant, interconnected community of IEEE members who valued their association with the organization and actively contributed to its growth and impact. By strategically addressing the objectives of membership enhancement, fostering collaboration, and promoting awareness, DevNexa’23 aimed to leave a lasting and positive imprint on the IEEE community at SLTC Research University.
