OBJECTIVE:

To create a welcoming and interactive environment for junior students by encouraging meaningful interactions with final-year students, introducing them to IEEE and its opportunities, and fostering teamwork, confidence, and communication through engaging activities.

DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT:

The IEEE GPREC Student Branch Communications Society (ComSoc) organized COLLIDE, an interactive senior-junior engagement event held on 23rd July 2026 at Seminar Gallery 2. The event commenced with an interactive session where final-year students introduced the juniors to IEEE, its benefits, student branch activities, technical societies, and the opportunities available through active participation. Seniors also shared their personal experiences, providing valuable guidance on academics, professional development, and extracurricular involvement.

Following the interaction session, participants enthusiastically took part in a fun-filled activity titled “Spin the Wheel.” Students were invited to spin a wheel containing a variety of exciting challenges and perform the activity indicated by the pointer. The challenges included entertaining and interactive tasks that encouraged participation, creativity, confidence, and collaboration among students. The activity created a lively atmosphere, helped break the ice between seniors and juniors, and strengthened the sense of belonging within the IEEE community.

OUTCOME:

The event successfully strengthened the interaction between senior and junior students while creating awareness about IEEE and its student activities. Participants gained valuable insights into the benefits of IEEE membership, developed new connections with seniors and peers, and actively participated in the engaging activities. The Spin the Wheel session made the event enjoyable and memorable, promoting confidence, teamwork, and a welcoming environment for new members. Overall, COLLIDE enhanced student engagement and encouraged greater participation in future IEEE events.
