Amateur radio & Antennas

October 24 @ 5:00 pm7:00 pm

This workshop is designed to introduce participants to the fundamentals and practical aspects of amateur radio operation, with a strong focus on antenna theory and construction. It covers the physics of electromagnetic radiation, different types of antennas commonly used in amateur radio, and the design principles necessary to build and optimize antennas for various frequency bands. Participants learn about antenna resonance, the relationship between frequency and wavelength, and directional versus omnidirectional antennas.

The workshop also includes hands-on activities such as constructing simple antennas like dipoles, understanding installations, and safety considerations. It is ideal for those interested in wireless communication, radio technology, and learning how to manage and enhance radio signals for effective transmission and reception. The skills gained help both beginners and hobbyists participate in amateur radio communities and amateur satellite communications. This workshop combines technical knowledge with practical experience to empower users to become proficient in safe and effective amateur radio operation.
